U-Haul® announced the opening of its first retail, moving and self-storage center in Olive Branch to better meet the needs of residents in and around DeSoto County.
U-Haul Moving & Storage of Olive Branch at 4209 Goodman Road began serving the public on Oct. 18.
Store hours are 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday-Thursday and Saturday; 7 a.m.-8 p.m. Friday; and 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday. Reserve storage or moving equipment on the U-Haul app or call U-Haul of Olive Branch at (662) 782-2318.
The Company’s 14th owned-and-operated store in Mississippi sits on 13 acres and includes a three-story, 105,196-square-foot building containing more than 840 indoor climate-controlled storage units with high-tech security features at affordable price points.
In addition to self-storage, an expansive retail showroom provides customers access to moving trucks and trailers, professional hitch installation and towing accessories, and boxes and moving supplies. Drive-in load/unload bays offer storage customers optimal convenience and protection from the weather. Propane tank exchange will be available soon, and a refill station is planned.
The property includes a U-Box® warehouse space with inground dock capable of storing 571 of the Company’s portable moving containers.
“After much anticipation, we are excited to announce the opening of our newest center,” said Liz Simpson, U-Haul Company of Memphis president. “Thousands of cars pass this address daily in the heart of Olive Branch. This is a convenient location that will allow us to reach more people in need of the trusted products and services U-Haul offers.”
Simpson intends to hire up to 15 Team Members to staff the Olive Branch store. U-Haul will look to hire locally to promote job growth within the Olive Branch community. U-Haul, founded by a WWII Navy veteran and honored as a Best for Vets employer by The Military Times, actively recruits veterans and gives them hiring preference. “We are proud to be part of the Olive Branch family and are ready to fulfill our duty to the community,” added Jeff Porter, U-Haul Area District Vice President.
U-Haul continues to benefit the environment through its shared-use business model. Truck and trailer sharing enables communities to share moving equipment so that families and individuals don’t need to own large-capacity vehicles to transfer belongings. Sustainability initiatives like U-Haul Adaptive Reuse (the preserving and repurposing of existing buildings for new stores), truck modifications to improve fuel economy, and plastic Ready-To-Go Boxes® that are shared hundreds of times before being recycled are among the many ways U-Haul promotes green business. U-Box Load Share®, the Company’s latest sustainability program, was recently named the Best in Biz gold winner for the Most Environmentally Friendly Service of the Year.
