Triangular Self-Storage Proposed Near Santa Rosa Springs in Maricopa, AZ

Triangular self-storage proposed near Santa Rosa Springs - InMaricopa

A new self-storage facility has been proposed for about 8 acres of undeveloped land near Santa Rosa Springs.

Maricopa landowner and realtor Dayv Morgan last month submitted pre-application paperwork to the city for an RV and self-storage development along Sonoran Desert Parkway, right between Santa Rosa Wash and Lunar Street. Attached is a request to amend the land use and zoning from general rural to light industrial.

The preliminary site plan shows a triangle-shaped parcel that could accommodate up to 317 vehicles and two storage buildings.

However, Morgan said the development may focus more on the self-storage element than long-term storage for vehicles.

It’s kind of morphed over time, so for now we’re just going to take care of the zoning,” he told InMaricopa today. “I think right now it will be the only [storage facility] south of Maricopa-Casa Grande Highway.”

Morgan added he’s been planning the project for several years, but with the parkway operational and more business development planned for the area, now feels like the time to get cracking on what can become a years-long process.

I’ve just had a few other projects that have taken priority, so this one kept getting pushed farther down. I think this is a good time to ramp things up and get the approval,” he said.
