Portland, Oregon-based Carefree Covered RV Storage will begin construction next month on its eighth location at the southeast corner of Loma Road and Estrella Parkway, according to a press release today.
The business anticipates customers can begin parking their vehicles at the Estrella Gin Business Park facility in October.
This is the first advancement in more than a year for the long-anticipated large vehicle storage facility. In June 2023, the Maricopa Planning and Zoning Commission had approved the major development review permit.
The storage facility will be able to accommodate 512 RVs with covered parking on its 11 acres, as well as offer wash bays, a dump station and on-site security.
Barry Raber, the president of the parent company, Business Property Trust, admitted Maricopans don’t have enough options when to comes to RV storage, saying there is a “serious unmet demand for covered RV storage.”
While there are some storage options just outside city limits, the nearest locations that offered dedicated covered storage for RVs is about 15 miles away in Chandler.
