Businessman Plans Self-Storage Conversion of Vacant Inverness Site

Local operator Ewan Calder has submitted plans to convert a vacant Inverness bowling alley into a £2 million indoor self-storage facility. The scheme would offer units from 25 to 250 sq ft with digital access and mezzanine storage, and if approved, would represent the first fully indoor self-storage offering in the city — current local provision being limited to outdoor container sites.

An opening in May 2027 is targeted, pending Highland Council planning consent and a building warrant.
