\nA Self-storage business has opened a large third site in Poole.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Lucy and Sophie Maidman, the sisters behind Store & Secure, have opened the facility in Hamworthy and named it after their mother, who lived in the area for her whole life.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The three-storey, 40,000sqft bright yellow building includes serviced offices and more than 500 storage units, including containers outside.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Store & Secure already has large sites in Bournemouth and Basingstoke. The new base is named Joyce House after the sisters\u2019 mother Joyce Maidman, who died in 2020. It is a purpose-built facility that sells all packing materials from its \u2018box shop\u2019.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Lucy said: \u201cDemand is growing for storage and we identified this location as one that required extra capacity. <\/span><\/span>\u201cWe are working with removal companies and estate agents who are making use of the space we have.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cSome of our serviced offices are already being used by local companies and this is a part of the business that has been growing at our other sites. <\/span><\/span>\u201cWe anticipate many commercial clients taking space because we will happily take in deliveries of stock for them.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cStore & Secure has a real emphasis on offering great service and we are proud to be a family business. <\/span><\/span>\u201cWe now have a total area of 150,000 square feet across our three sites and have ambitions to grow further.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe new facility is close to where we grew up and there is a real community feels \u2013 we\u2019d love people to pop in and say hello. The kettle is always on. <\/span><\/span>\u201cAlong with our dad Brian we decided to name the building after our mum Joyce because most people in Hamworthy knew her. <\/span><\/span>\u201cNow there is something lasting in her memory; she would be very proud to have her name up in lights.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Store & Secure was founded in 2010 in Bournemouth by Brian Maidman, who 30 years earlier had founded Maidman Removals. <\/span><\/span>In 2014, the removal business was sold and two years later a second storage facility was opened in Basingstoke. <\/span><\/span>Brian\u2019s daughters Lucy and Sophie now run the business. It was named European Facility of the Year in 2014 and UK Independent Facility of the Year finalists from 2014 to 2019.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
