A huge self-storage container scheme has been approved for Stockton. The development will see up to 470 steel shipping containers at a site off Junction Road.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Stockton Council has granted permission for the scheme, on a 3.7 acre area of land behind Jewson builders’ merchants. The site, run by Titan Containers, will be for public use.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The site was previously granted planning permission for caravan and motorhome storage in 2022.The latest scheme will include a site office, internal access roads, gates and security cameras.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Commercial property firm Jones Lang LaSalle said: “The site is largely screened from these neighbouring residential occupiers by the presence of the builders\u2019 merchant.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

“Taking account of the already busy nature of the road network of Junction Road and the nearby junction with Durham Road and Harrowgate Lane, the proposed use would not result in any significant changes that would impact on the residential occupiers of those properties along Junction Road.”<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
