Plans for a storage facility in the Abbotsinch area of Paisley have been submitted to Renfrewshire Council.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n North Star Storage wants to introduce a facility with steel containers and an office at Glasgow Airport Business Park.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n A planning application has been put in for a location, which is bordered by Inchinnan Road and Marchburn Drive. A statement, prepared by agent company Zander Planning, said the proposal would involve the reuse of a brownfield site.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n It explained: \u201cPlanning permission is sought for the use of the site as a class six self-storage facility and the installation of steel containers, associated office accommodation, fencing, lighting and other associated works.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n \u201cIt is proposed the site will operate 24 hours, seven days a week. \u201cThe proposal involves the installation of 20ft steel containers and 10ft steel containers for self-storage use.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n \u201cThe containers will be green. These are arranged with vehicular access running through the site. \u201cA site office will be located close to the entrance.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Data has shown self-storage is a \u201clow traffic business\u201d, according to the statement, with 75 percent of customers visiting less than once a month and just seven percent doing so more than once a week.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
