A farm next to Fenland in Barnham Broom is looking to further expand its storage container business in response to demand. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Barn Owl Farm is seeking permission for another 72 self storage units on its property.”<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n The business, located off Bell Road, already has around 129 containers on the site, having already been given permission to expand last year. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n The latest plan will use agricultural land adjacent to the existing storage containers. A member of the public has written to South Norfolk Council’s planning team to object to the schemes. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n They fear the proposals would harm wildlife at the fen, and raised concerns about the visual impact.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n However, similar concerns were dismissed by South Norfolk Council officers when approving last year’s application.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Tim Barker, a planning officer, said it was part of a large working farm, with hedgerows and trees interrupting views of the site. He said: “While the fen is relatively nearby it is not immediately adjacent to the siting of the containers, with a number of intervening farm buildings in between the containers and the fen.”<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
