A Brent Cross business park could be getting a new six-storey Big Yellow Self-Storage facility after the current one was deemed \u201ctired and outdated\u201d.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Plans for the Staples Corner site incorporate flexible office space to help \u201cmeet growing domestic and business needs, as well as generating further employment\u201d.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

A planning statement explained the existing Big Yellow store would not be vacated until the new one was built and opened \u201censuring a seamless move across to the new store for existing occupiers\u201d.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The proposed building will accommodate 378 square metres of flexible office space, located at the front of the building, looking onto Edgware Road and Staples Corner West Roundabout.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The offices will be managed by Big Yellow and will range in size from ten to 50sqm and can be used independently or in conjunction with storage provision.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The proposed site currently contains a car dealership which will be demolished to make way for the new store.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The planning statement calculates the difference in floorspace between the old and new site will be 15,172 sqm.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Big Yellow Self-Storage has 109 stores across the UK including 47 in London. The company has \u201cidentified a growing demand for both self-storage and affordable workspace\u201d in the north-west London area.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The new development incorporates flexible office space to \u201cspecifically\u201d target small and medium enterprises and online businesses.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
