Located off Ambrose Street in Ashburys, the 125,000 sq ft facility would replace existing 1970s industrial warehouses. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Storage World, which operates three sites across Greater Manchester, submitted proposals for the Ardwick scheme in 2022. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The \u00a38m development would be constructed on a 1.2-acre site and comprise between 800 and 1,000 storage units. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Now, Manchester City Council has approved the five-storey project. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The scheme would be Storage World\u2019s second in Manchester, the first being less than a mile away on Ashton Old Road. The two other sites are in Middleton and Airport City. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

P4 Planning advised Storage World on the application and Bate and Taylor Architects led on design. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

As well as providing storage space, the developer behind the project anticipates some of the units would be used to house small businesses. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Attracted by cheaper rents and flexible contracts, there has been a rise in companies turning towards self-storage facilities as workspace alternatives.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
