Redsun Projects has completed the first phase of a 70,000 sq ft development at the Croft Retail Park in Bromborough in Wirral.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Located next to the A41 New Chester Road, the scheme is a mixed-use development. The first phase, which has taken 10 months to build, includes a 24,000 sq ft Lok\u2019nStore self-storage facility and four trade counter units.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Lok\u2019nStore has acquired its unit from Redsun and the developer is in discussions with a single occupier to take a lease of all four of the trade counter units. Caddick Construction was the main contractor on the project and the architect was Fletcher Rae.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Gastronomy Properties has purchased part of the site to deliver two drive-through units to be operated under their UK franchise agreement as a Starbucks caf\u00e9 and a Wendy\u2019s fast-food restaurant.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The site will also include some EV provision. Planning consent is already granted for these parts of the development and construction will start imminently. Work on a further 30,000 sq ft of trade counter units will begin later this year.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

This development was backed by a \u00a35.2m loan from Merseyside Pension Fund. Redsun director Nick Wightman said: \u201cWe are pleased to deliver this high-quality development on time and on budget, a major testament to the design and construction team. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe exceptional standard of the scheme no doubt contributed to us securing such high-profile occupiers as the Starbucks and Wendy\u2019s brands and Lok\u2019nStore prior to the works being completed.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe are already talking to businesses that are interested in taking space on the second and final phase on the site, which we hope to be on-site with shortly.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Langton Development Services, Link Engineering and KGA made up the rest of the project delivery team. Redsun was represented by B8 Real Estate and Legat Owen.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Ian Gill, property director at Gastronomy Properties, added: \u201cThis site is a key strategic location for the expansion of our existing Starbucks portfolio and will enhance our presence in Wirral. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThrough our development and property vehicle, Gastronomy Properties and assisted by HSBC, we are able to purchase sites such as this for development for our own occupation and supporting operators.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
