In September 2023, Cinch Self Storage snapped up the brownfield site of Unit A in Cheney Manor Industrial Estate with the aim of setting up 68,000 sq ft of lettable space for domestic and business customers by late 2024. <\/span><\/span><\/span>New photos of the building show it covered in a coat of blue paint with fresh signage advertising the latest addition to the area which has been under construction for months.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n The chain\u2019s website lists the self-storage space as opening this month.<\/i><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n It includes more than 700 units that will be available for use as self-storage rooms, workshops, retail units, or office spaces for companies of any size. <\/span><\/span><\/span>It is hoped this variety of different rentable spaces will help boost the town’s economy, attract businesses to the area, and drive local job creation.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n A spokesperson for the company said: \u201cOne of the largest storage facilities in Swindon, Cinch Self Storage Swindon offers storage units, business warehouses, pallet storage and storage rooms ranging in size from 15 sq ft to over 500 plus sq ft.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n \u201cLocated on Cheney Manor Industrial Estate just off the roundabout between Cheney Manor Road and Rodbourne Road (B4006) by the Shell garage. <\/span><\/span><\/span>“For local, low-cost, flexible storage in Swindon, call or pop in-store to chat with our excellent, five-star rated team today.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Cinch Storage co-founder Richard Owen said at the time of the site\u2019s acquisition: \u201cWe are delighted to be adding a new spacious site to our growing portfolio and bringing our self-storage offering to residents and businesses in Swindon.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n “Today our portfolio exceeds 850,000 square feet of assets in operation or development, and we are continually on the lookout for opportunities to acquire additional sites. <\/span><\/span><\/span>“With a firm eye on sustainability, we have designed the facility with the needs and priorities of local businesses in mind.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n “Through regenerating a neglected brownfield site, implementing environmentally-friendly features, and offering ideal workspaces for entrepreneurs and businesses, Cinch Storage Swindon will offer win-wins for the local economy and the environment.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n The facility incorporates several eco-friendly features that focus on improving water efficiency, energy efficiency, and biodiversity on-site. <\/span><\/span><\/span>The property has been fitted with low-use appliances and control devices to reduce water consumption and pollution.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Low-energy fittings and LED auto-presence sensor lighting will reduce energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. <\/span><\/span><\/span>The site has also been fitted with bat and bird boxes, with extensive landscaping planned to promote biodiversity and improve the local environment.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
