A family-owned storage business is spending more than \u00a3500,000 to grow its Poole facility by a third as demand continues to spiral.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Store & Secure, which opened in Hamworthy four years ago, is to add hundreds more units to meet a growing need for space from both domestic and business customers.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n The business is run by sisters Lucy and Sophie Maidman, who have named its Poole base Joyce House after their late mother.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Lucy Maidman said: \u201cWe opened four years ago and the 40,000 sq ft included hundreds of storage units of varying sizes as well as serviced offices.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n \u201cWe are in the fortunate position of requiring more units and have been able to secure permission to increase the facility by around 30%.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n \u201cAlready the new units, which will be at the back of the facility, are being allocated.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n The company caters for domestic and commercial clients and has online retailers who store stock at the facility.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Maidman added: \u201cWe take in deliveries for them and it enables them to have a second income \u2013 it\u2019s a trend that began during the pandemic.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
