Construction is underway on a massive 105,500-square-foot self-storage facility in South River.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The developer, CrownPoint Group Inc., broke ground earlier this month on the three-story, climate-controlled facility at 696 Old Bridge Turnpike.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The facility is located at the intersection of Old Bridge Turnpike and Route 18, according to a statement from the developers.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

More than 1,000 apartments already surround the site, with 218 additional units under development.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The residential growth demand created the need for storage space that existing facilities haven\u2019t met, the developers said.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The project marks the Parsippany-based developer\u2019s second self-storage facility. CrownPoint broke ground on a 135,000-square-foot facility in Newark\u2019s Ironbound section two years ago.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
