Also, according to the property appraiser\u2019s website, the owner is Holly Hill QOZ Self-Storage LLC, an entity of Inland Real Estate of Oak Brook, Ill.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #222222;\">\u201c<span style=\"font-family: Lato, Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Inland Real Estate Acquisitions LLC is committed to using its expertise, integrity and innovation to identify, negotiate and acquire diverse commercial real estate properties such as shopping centers, apartments, medical office, student housing, self-storage facilities and select net leased properties,\u201d it&#8217;s website states.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #222222;\"><span style=\"font-family: Lato, Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">A Feb. 10, 2022, news release states, \u201cInland entered into a strategic relationship with Devon Self Storage Holdings, one of the country\u2019s most experienced and prominent self-storage developers and operators.\u201d Also noted in the release \u201cInland Real Estate Acquisitions and Devon have been incredibly successful at uncovering high quality, undervalued real estate opportunities.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #222222;\"><span style=\"font-family: Lato, Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">According to the Devon Self Storage company website, \u201cAs an employee-owned, private real estate company, we offer a wide portfolio of properties, including third-party managed facilities. We serve 25 states across the United States, including California, Georgia, Florida, and more.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #222222;\"><span style=\"font-family: Lato, Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">The site actually has two buildings, according to Assistant City Manager Brian M. Walker. \u201cThese buildings will house climate controlled self-storage, but need to be renovated. The City is actively involved with the current demo taking place inside the north building. It is moving forward without any major issues and the developer expects to submit permits to begin the interior buildout in about 35 days.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #222222;\"><span style=\"font-family: Lato, Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">The city expects the north building will open for business in June or July, Mr. Walker said. \u201cWe have not received any plans for the demo of the south building but the developer expects to, have the new building at the south site open for business by November.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #222222;\"><span style=\"font-family: Lato, Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">The former Florida Health Care Plans building, for which ground was broken in 1959 was originally Holly Hill\u2019s second hospital, known simply as Holly Hill Hospital. It began as a partnership with two local doctors. Later it became known as Daytona General and a major expansion was completed in 1968. Most notably, in 1990, the old medical facility and parking lot was used for movie scenes for the Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman film \u201cDays of Thunder.\u201d Many locals worked as extras for the film. The movie has gained a significant following among racing enthusiasts.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #222222;\"><span style=\"font-family: Lato, Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">The building has been a medical facility throughout its entire history until Florida Health Care Plans vacated the property in 2021 and moved a new headquarters building on the corner of Mason and Dunn avenues in Daytona Beach. The old facility has been vacant for two years.
