The 751-unit self-storage property is scheduled for delivery in 2025.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Bakke Development, in a joint venture with BCDC, has broken ground on a 111,909-square-foot self-storage facility in San Antonio, Texas. The development marks the partnership\u2019s seventh project.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The team behind the project includes Alamo Architects Inc. and Independent Contractors Inc. Security State Bank has provided the construction financing. The development is scheduled for delivery in the second quarter of 2025.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Upon completion, the three-story building will feature 86,475 rentable square feet and will include 751 climate-controlled units.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The facility is taking shape on 0.8 acres at the SW Loop 410 and Palo Alto Road, providing easy access to interstates 410 and 35. Downtown San Antonio is within less than 10 miles. The property will be situated within the San Antonio city limits, in proximity to Texas A&M University \u2013 San Antonio, Palo Alto Community College and the Toyota Motor Manufacturing Texas Plant.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The storage facility will be one of the five available within a 3-mile radius, offering residents 7.1 rentable square feet per capita. The San Antonio market had 14 self-storage properties under construction as of June, set to add approximately 1.4 million square feet to the existing inventory.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Since the beginning of this year, the partnership has expanded its Texas self-storage development pipeline. Construction has begun on an 85,825-rentable-square-foot project in McAllen and on a 104,875-square-foot self storage facility in New Braunfels, both of which are slated for delivery in the first quarter of 2025.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
