Construction on two self-storage warehouses along Route 13 in Bristol Township is progressing.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The work began in the spring following approvals by the Bristol Township Council last year.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Bristol Pike Storage LLC is developing a four-story self-storage facility spanning 121,392 square feet on a 3.57-acre site at the end of Pacific Avenue, along Route 13 by Green Lane and next to the Pennsylvania Turnpike\/I-95.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Representatives for the project said last year that the building could host up to 900 units and would offer access with a right-in and right-out driveway along Route 13. Additionally, a gated emergency access driveway will connect to Pacific Avenue.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The approved plans also included two 1,200-square-foot billboards facing the Pennsylvania Turnpike.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Less than a mile away, another facility is taking shape along Route 13 at the intersection of Airport Road and Silvi Avenue.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The 36,000-square-foot facility will feature access points on Airport Road and two on Silvi Avenue.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

A representative for the project highlighted last year that the previously fully paved site was being removed and that would lead to a significant addition of green space.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Additional improvements have been planned for Silvi Avenue next to the new development.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The new self-storage centers are part of a broader trend in Lower Bucks County as self-storage facilities have become increasingly common over the past decade.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The self-storage sector has experienced robust growth nationwide, according to a number of reports.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

A 2022 report by Proficient Market Insights valued the global self-storage market at $54 billion in 2021, with projections to climb to $83 billion by 2027. The growth has been driven primarily by expansion in North America.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

A 2023 report on the business noted that more than one in every five Americans is currently renting a self-storage unit.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The Generation X age group, which is early 40s to 55 is the most likely to rent a self-storage unit, according to a survey by industry website Storage Cafe.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Respondents to the survey reported that furniture, clothes, appliances, and sports gear are most often stored in their units.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
