U-Haul can expand and renovate its facilities in Palencia after a unanimous vote of approval for rezoning from the St. Johns County Board of County Commissioners on Oct<\/span><\/span>ober 0<\/span><\/span>1. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The project is at 6810 U.S. 1 N., near Stokes Landing Road, about half a mile north of King\u2019s Head Pub.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

U-Haul plans to develop the 12.42-acre site into a self-storage and rental facility.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The project includes renovating the existing rental building, constructing a three-story, 117,114-square-foot self-storage building and adding a one-story, 17,012-square-foot warehouse. It will also feature an RV and trailer long-term storage area, outdoor storage units, parking and loading areas, and a stormwater detention pond. The site will offer 31 parking spaces.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

This will be U-Haul\u2019s third location in St. Johns County. The company operates more than 23,000 locations across the U.S. and Canada. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

U-Haul owns the site through 6810 U.S. Highway 1 LLC of St. Augustine. Shah, Doctors and Associates of Pompano Beach is the project engineer. Karen Taylor of St. Augustine is the land planner.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
