Flexiss Group, the Wilmslow-based self-storage business, has acquired a new site in Telford, Shropshire, for an undisclosed sum.

The purchase has been fully funded by the group, reflecting its strong financial position and ongoing commitment to sustainable, independent growth, it said.

The new Telford site represents an important step in Flexiss group’s expansion strategy, broadening its SureStore footprint across the Midlands and enhancing the company’s ability to support local businesses with its fully automated storage facility.

Co-founders, Mike Wilson and Andy Wood, said: “This acquisition underlines our confidence in the region and our ambition to provide high quality, fully automated storage solutions for local residents and businesses.

Funding the project entirely ourselves demonstrates our strength as an organisation and our long term commitment to investing in communities like Telford.”

Work on preparing the site at Rampart Way has started, and a December 2025 opening is scheduled.

Flexiss Group has embarked on an expansion strategy.

In April this year it unveiled a £300m strategic partnership with US-based Compound Real Estate to deliver a landmark self-storage portfolio across London and key towns around the M25.

Their Comporter Portfolio will be a collection of best-in-class, new-build self-storage assets located in strategic, affluent and densely populated markets.

The first sites in Tunbridge Wells and Milton Keynes are set to open this year, with the full portfolio – including sites in Guildford, Barnet and Peckham – opening by early 2027.
