SpareBox Enters Austin, Expands in Arkansas

SpareBox has acquired four facilities in Greater Austin and Rogers, AR, expanding its portfolio by a total of 700,000 square feet. The company purchased the assets from four different sellers.

The Austin acquisitions are SpareBox’s first foray into the market. While the Arkansas asset is the fifth SpareBox location in the state’s northwest region.

Since its launch last year, the company built a portfolio of 6.3 million square feet across 95 facilities. Last month, SpareBox made one of its largest purchases expanding its footprint by 1.9 million square feet of storage across seven Midwest markets. The company closed on 28 properties sold by Berger Realty Group.

CURRENT EXPANSIONS

The Austin acquisition includes two facilities in Round Rock, Texas, located within a mile of each other, and a facility in Pflugerville. All three assets are roughly 26 miles northeast of downtown Austin.

SpareBox acquired the 2018-built Pflugerville property from Grow Your Storage. Located at 1511 Panther Loop, the asset offers 91,587 rentable square feet across seven buildings. The facility includes climate-controlled units, as well as RV and boat parking options, ranging between 25 and 312 square feet.

Built in several phases between 2011 and 2018, the 82,059-rentable-square-foot property at 7525 County Road 110 in Round Rock encompasses nine buildings spanning 15 acres. The previous owner was All Pro Capital. Units range between 25 and 560 square feet and include climate-controlled and RV and boat parking options.

The facility at 6701 Country Road 110 offers non-climate-controlled units with drive-up access. Storage spaces range from 50 to 500 square feet and include RV and boat parking.

The Arkansas asset is located at 1441 W. Pleasant Grove Road, in Rogers. The property offers a mix of climate- and non-climate-controlled units ranging from 50 to 700 square feet. Storage spaces include RV and boat parking.
