Weatogue-based Bulwark LLC is proposing a 79,200-square-foot self-storage facility at 8120 and 8122 Colt Highway in Farmington, also known as Route 6.
One of two business partners, Matthew Morris, of Simsbury, has applied for a special permit that would allow him to construct a four-story self-storage building on two parcels that total 4.99 acres.
The application is on the agenda for the Planning and Zoning Commission’s meeting at 7 p.m. Monday. The plans show a building with a footprint of 19,800 square feet, along with four parking spaces and one main loading area on the north side.
The driveway is about 1,500 feet from a signalized intersection at the Hampton Inn. The property will have a secondary right-turn-only exit driveway.
The property, which is moderately wooded, is now owned by Los Angeles-based Wilshire Insurance Enterprises Inc. Morris and business partner David Pulley, of Weatogue, have an agreement to acquire the land.
A permit was approved by the town’s Inland Wetlands Commission in March.
