An industrial property in Copiague will soon be redeveloped into a self-storage facility.
Lake Success-based SNL Storage purchased the 32,400-square-foot building on 1.9 acres at 1550 Sunrise Highway for $5.2 million. The property was formerly occupied by Pets Warehouse.
SNL Copiague LLC, an affiliate of SNL Storage, is planning to demolish part of the existing structure and construct a three-story, 38,890-square-foot self-storage facility on the site, according to its application with the Town of Babylon.
The company, which primarily develops self-storage facilities throughout the New York metropolitan area, has built two previous self-storage projects on Long Island in the last couple of years. SNL developed a 96,000-square-foot self-storage building at 500 Sunrise Highway in Patchogue and an 89,780-square-foot self-storage facility at 1640 Hempstead Turnpike in East Meadow, according to its website. The East Meadow project was a redevelopment of the former Lufthansa office building at the site.
Chris Lynch of FMC Realty Associates represented the buyer, while Marvin Hartman of Pliskin Realty & Development represented the seller, Samson Realty LLC, in the Copiague sales transaction.
