Uplift Development Opens Self-Storage Facility in Austin, Texas

Uplift Development Group has opened Uplift Self Storage – Goodnight Ranch, a 102,000-square-foot storage facility in Austin, Texas, at 6726 Stockman Drive. The developer also oversees day-to-day operations at the facility.

The three-story self-storage property comprises climate-controlled units ranging from 25 to 300 square feet. Amenities at the gated facility include drive-up access, security cameras and on-site staff.

Uplift Self Storage is part of the 700-acre Goodnight Ranch, a mixed-use master-planned community. The megadevelopment features single-family homes, senior housing and rental units, as well as retail and office space and a healthcare clinic.

The storage facility is close to several major thoroughfares, namely Interstate 35, U.S. Route 183 and highways 71, 45 and 130. The Austin-Bergstrom International Airport is within 10 miles northeast. Downtown Austin is 11 miles north. The property is one of four available within a 3-mile radius, offering residents some 5 net rentable square feet per capita.

Austin self-storage remains solid

As of June, there were 34 self-storage facilities in Austin in all stages of development. The under-construction pipeline included eight properties, set to add 592,067 square feet to the area, the same source shows. During the same month, the metro’s under-construction supply stood at 3.0 per cent of the existing inventory, unchanged from the previous month and 30 basis points above the national figure.

Nationwide, June saw 3,083 self-storage properties in all stages of development nationwide. The pipeline for facilities under construction included 710 developments amounting to 53.4 million net rentable square feet, which made up 2.7 per cent of total stock—reflecting a 10-basis-point decrease from the previous month.
