A planning application submitted to Wolverhampton Council proposes building a 17,000 sq ft Storage Giant self-storage facility, alongside office space, 36 parking spaces and a Starbucks drive-thru, on the site of the former Strykers bowling alley in Shaw Road, Bushbury. The bowling alley was destroyed by fire in December 2013, shortly after closing, and the site has remained vacant since, having previously been the subject of a withdrawn Lidl supermarket proposal in 2023.
The application states the scheme would retain employment use on the land and bring the long-vacant, overgrown site back into active use. The proposal remains subject to planning approval.
