A new Go Store It self storage facility has opened at an adaptive reuse project in Naples, Florida. Situated at 220 Basik Drive, the new property is located at a converted retail center, formerly a Big Cypress Marketplace. Go Store It and general contractor Liberty Solutions converted the former retail site into a modern storage property to meet the demand for storage in the fast-growing market.

Go Store acquires, develops, and manages self-storage properties across the U.S. The company, an affiliate of Madison Capital Group, has 7.1 million square feet of storage space under management across 17 states.

This building has existed in the community for nearly 15 years, and we wanted to preserve this unique property that sits prominently on Tamiami Trail,” Beau Agnello, Go Store It chief operating officer, told Multi-Housing News. “Our internal development team in collaboration with our general contractor worked to creatively design a functional storage interior while upfitting the existing structure and enhancing the appearance. We are excited to bring this space back to life to provide high-quality storage solutions to the surrounding community.”

Growing need

Measuring almost 107,200 square feet in size, the building provides 503 secure, climate-controlled storage units. Go Store It expects the Naples location to serve both individual customers and businesses. Target market areas include Marco Island, South Naples, Goodland, Lely Resort, Everglades City and surrounding cities.

The new self-storage facility includes a variety of tech-forward features. They include secure electronic access and ClickandStor 24/7 Move-In. The property also includes ADA-accessible storage units, security lighting, roll-up doors, heated and cooled climate-controlled units, free dolly and flatbed carts for use on site, interior storage units, moving supplies and boxes available for purchase and month-to-month rentals.

The facility is situated near the Shoppes at Fiddler’s Creek, Publix Super Market and Collier Seminole State Park and is on Florida’s cross-state artery, the Tamiami Trail.

Go Store It officials are targeting not only local residents and businesses but visitors to a region highly favored by winter vacationers. In a prepared statement, a Go Store It official noted the Lely Resort area suffers from a dearth of self-storage facilities.

Last week, Go Store It broke ground on a Class A, 1,000-unit, 109,000-square-foot storage facility in suburban Nashville, TN.
