West Coast Self-Storage has agreed to deploy StorageDefender’s Smart Unit monitoring system across its nearly 170 locations, with rollout targeted for completion by Q4 2026. The service provides tenants with real-time unit activity alerts at $15 per month, creating ancillary revenue outside of base rental rates. West Coast conducted a pilot before committing to the full rollout, reporting tenant adoption of approximately 60% at initial sites.
The deal is one of the larger portfolio-wide smart monitoring commitments disclosed in the self-storage industry to date.
