Show & Tel, an adult entertainment club in South Philadelphia that had been open since the 1990s, has been closed and will soon be repurposed as a self storage facility.
The 32,000-square-foot property was sold for $2.3 million and will be redeveloped as a storage facility and office space.
The property was listed for $3.5 million about two years ago, but the asking price was later reduced to attract a buyer.
It certainly helped.
“We had a lot of action on this one. There was a lot of interest,” said Ken Mallin, president and CEO of MPN Realty, the firm that represented Show & Tel owner Ray Miles in the sale. “You had some guys that wanted the strip club, but they weren’t the predominant buyer. People had different uses in mind, and this buyer was the one that we and the seller liked the most.”
While the new buyer’s name hasn’t been revealed, it is known that the buyer also has properties on Washington Avenue.
Show & Tel had operated as both an adult entertainment establishment and retail store that sold X-rated videos and more.
However, business slowed considerably around the pandemic and never fully recovered.
